Filters Out the Smallest Particles
Our K9 Mask® uses a PM 2.5 filter. This means that the smallest toxic particles are filtered out of the air. In fact, 2.5 refers to the size and the letters PM refer to the term “particulate matter”. In the case of our air filter masks for dogs, PM 2.5 means that our masks filter out particles that are larger than 2.5 micrometers in width. How big is 2.5 micrometers? According to the EPA, it’s about 30 times larger than the average human hair.
Filters Out 95% of the Smallest Particles

The filters we use meet N95 rating standards established by the FDA, CDC, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Activated Carbon Filter

The benefit of wearing a mask that utilizes multiple types of filtering components is that it will remove more kinds of contaminants, and a larger amount of them. With regard to activated carbon, this filtering material is particularly good at absorbing harmful, poisonous gases that N95 filters may not be able to capture.

Dogs release heat through panting, so you wouldn’t want to put something over a dog’s mouth that would prevent them from being able to do so effectively.
